EDUCATIONAL TRAVELS
The ASTAD's Atelier formula considers educational travels to Italian sites
as an essential integration of the classroom teaching. Numbers, duration and
itineraries are proportional to the length of workshops and courses.
Educational travels are key components of the learning project. Astad calls
"territorial classrooms" those architectural and artistic spaces where
teachers discuss with students about art and design. Astad chooses places to
visit among these which best emphasize the character of Italian art and
crafts, related with design in general and student projects in particular.
Here are some examples: small historic towns perched on hilltops or on the
seashore, town squares, private and public buildings, museums, churches,
convents and many other art works.
